Expat fashionistas at present located in Prague are counting the days until Primark’s new mega-store opens.

Female expats in the Czech Republic eager for the latest styles at an affordable cost won’t need to take the regular bus tour across the German border to Dresden’s Primark store, as the famous budget-conscious retailer is about to open in Prague. The discount fashion chain’s new Eastern and Central Europe flagship is set on the first three floors of a towering steel and glass modernist building now in construction in the city’s famous Wenceslas Square, and is expected to become the company’s flagship store.

Due to open this autumn in spite of the pandemic, Primark is already hiring staff as the interior of the mega-store nears completion. Czechs and expats alike are waiting with bated breath to be the first to buy affordable latest fashions, especially as the budget fashion guru has announced its opening will feature a sale of sales including unprecedented price reductions. The coronavirus pandemic has resulted in the closure of all Primark’s retail operations, with clearing out stock left on the shelves and in their warehouses essential for creating space for this season’s new designs.

The Flow Building, as it’s now known, is energy-efficient, uses natural daylight and offers its tenants a magnificent view over the city from its rooftop terrace as well as two underground car parks equipped with e-bike charging points. It’s hoped the need for social distancing will be greatly reduced by opening day, as huge crowds are expected!
